Why (the right) size matters!
Think you’re always an M (Medium)? Think again. When it comes to underwear, there really is no such thing as being “true to size.”
You might have worn a Medium for years and automatically choose M whenever you shop. But your usual size is only a starting point. For the best fit, always check our Size Guide and measure yourself before ordering.

Why? Because sizes aren’t universal.
Our sizes are designed around specific body-measurement ranges. But how a garment actually fits and feels depends on much more than a letter or number on the label.
Your body shape matters. Two men with the same waist measurement can have very different proportions, and the same size can therefore feel quite different on each of them.
The style matters. A low-rise brief, a thong, a boxer brief and a swim mini trunk may all fit differently, even when they carry the same size label.
The fabric matters. Different fabrics have different amounts of stretch, recovery, softness and compression. A stretchy micro-mesh, for example, won’t necessarily feel the same as a firmer fabric in the same size.
And there is one more factor that’s easy to overlook:

Even the same style isn’t necessarily identical from one production run to another.
We develop and approve our products using production samples, with carefully defined measurements and specifications. However manufacturing tolerances, fabric characteristics and other production variables can all have a small effect on the final fit
If that can happen within one brand, imagine the differences between different brands — and between sizing standards in different countries.
A Medium from one brand may be quite different from a Medium from another. And a US Medium usually doesn’t correspond to a European or Asian Medium.

So, what size should you buy?
Don’t rely on the size you usually wear.
Instead, take a minute to measure yourself and use the fitting ranges in our Size Guide to determine your starting size.
If you’re between sizes, your preferred fit can also make a difference. Some people prefer their underwear snug and supportive; others prefer a little more room.
The bottom line: the letter on the label doesn’t determine the fit. Your measurements, your body shape, the style, and the fabric all play a part.
That’s why our Size Guide is there — and why we strongly recommend checking it before every purchase, even if you’ve been wearing “the same size” for years or if you think you have always worn the same size at Ergowear. Below is the Size Guide for most of our products – but, again, some styles have different size guides, so it’s worth checking it each time.
